Peter L. Shanahan, MD
Dr. Shanahan, MD graduated summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee with a Bachelor of Engineering. At the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Lexington, Kentucky, he earned his Doctor of Medicine with High Distinction. Following medical school, he completed a one year transitional medicine internship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. After completing a residency in diagnostic radiology at Vanderbilt University, Dr. Shanahan continued at Vanderbilt to perform a fellowship in neuroradiology. He has participated in several medical research projects and presentations and co-authored several publication articles. Currently, he is a member of medical professional societies, including the American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society and American Society of Neuroradiology. In his spare time, Dr. Shanahan enjoys golfing, hiking, traveling and mostly spending time with family and friends.
