Alan J. Kaufman, MD, MS
Dr. Kaufman earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering at the City University of New York and a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering/ Neurophysiology at the University of Connecticut. After earning his medical degree from the University of Liege in Liege, Belgium, he completed a flexible internship at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. Then, he completed a diagnostic radiology residency at Morristown Memorial Hospital, an affiliate of Columbia University Presbyterian Hospital, in Morristown, New Jersey, where he was the Chief Resident from 1982-1983. Board certified by the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Kaufman completed fellowship training in body imaging: ultrasound, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Previously, Dr. Kaufman served as an Associate Professor of Radiology at Vanderbilt and was the Medical Director of The Vanderbilt Breast Center. A member of the American College of Radiology, he has authored/coauthored numerous medical publications. Outside of the world of Radiology, Dr. Kaufman enjoys time with family and friends, music, outdoors (mountains and beach), travel, and culinary endeavors.
